Job Purpose and Impact
The purpose of the Onshore Book Manager is to manage the market risk of a 10-15Mt per year physical ore book and lead onshore derivative trading to deliver $25M in earnings for the Iron Ore product line.

Key Accountabilities
Lead analysis, game plan formulation and execution of onshore derivative trading -45%
• Leads overall DCE trading and execution to deliver earnings target within predefined risk limits; phys v futures, flat price, time spreads
• Leverages the physical book in the onshore derivative market.
• Works closely with the Physical Lead to identify key trading themes in physical and futures markets
• Contributes to broader Metals broader ferrous Game Plan

Drives Insight and Analysis-20%
• Leads and directs insight collection for the onshore trading team
• Drives analysis and links SND to onshore physical insights for game plan formulation
• Collaborate with Steel Teams to link insights from steel to raw materials
• Leverages onshore market intelligence

Leads Iron Ore Relative value Trading -20%
• Leads DCE v SGX trading for the iron ore product line to deliver PNL targets

Iron Ore/BU Book Team-10%
• Senior owner of product line risk; inputs into overall flat price positioning and management
• Actively contributes to other sub book game plans across iron ore and steel in identifying trading themes and opportunities

DCE, Brokerage accounts and derivative compliance-5%
• Ensures all positions are managed within exchange rules and exemptions are applied for timeously as fits trading strategy
• Manages futures brokerage accounts to optimize costs and earnings
• Ensures all Exchange rules and regulations are fully complied with

Essential Functions/Requirements
• Proven track record in trading derivative markets and delivering against PNL targets
• Proven risk taking capability alongside strong risk management disciplines in highly volatile markets
• Ability to combine multiple analytical, technical and anecdotal fundamental drivers
• Ability to formulate and execute trading game plans
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Superior analytical skills
• Superior communication skills, able to bridge varying cultures and job types.
• Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset; ability to seek out opportunities in developing markets

• University degree educated

• 5 years experience working in trading and/or commodity businesses (preferably within ferrous industry)
• Proven ability to understand and manage risks associated with an integrated physical and futures iron ore book
• Track record in generating proprietary trading income from trading physical and financial exposures
