Job Description:

• Support Occupational Safety manager in the country platform to implement safety programs in BASF Greater China, including organizing activities to raise employee OS awareness for risks to reduce and / or support avoidance of hazards and occupational injuries in the workplace according to the general guidance established for Occupation Safety mandatory requirements plus Responsible Care ? principles and practices.
Main Tasks:
• To ensure OS performance of GC sites & trading / holding companies complying with legal and conforming BASF requirements via site visit, data check/analysis, procedure inspection, audit and audits preparation from COR, KPMG, external partners (customer or QM certification auditor)
• Safety data collection
• Support PPE harmonization project
• Support hazard identification and risk assessment
• Support newly acquired companies to meet BASF OS requirement
• Collect and analyze the new requirement OS related from Laws and legal regulation
• Maintain and update OS related legal requirement and standards in BASF GC regulatory system
• Legal compliance check including gap analysis with focus on OS topics
• Coordinate the legal compliance implementation for BCH
• Support incident management including lesson learned for BCH
• Organize safety orientation training in English for newcomers at Pudong site and support OS training arrangement in GC
• Support RC audit support for GC sites
• Participate in raw material supplier EHS audit per request
• Support safety events initiated from country, regional or global level
• Support to follow up with each site on the implementation and improvement actions in their work areas to meet the safety standards established according to the applicable company
• Assess existing OS procedure & WI with each safety rep of the sites & offices, identify weak areas and work with local teams for continuous improvement
• Responsible to lead safety culture development including projects promotion e.g. GEAR, STEP etc.
• Finish other dedicated assistant tasks
• Education: Bachelor or above in chemical engineering, chemistry or related
• Working Experience: more than 5 years working in multi-national companies on EHS management or related EHS positions
• Technical & Professional Knowledge:
• Core skills: good EHS and experience on occupational safety, construction safety, office safety, site EHS management etc.
• Job Related preferable skills: strong communication skills, learning capability and problem-solving skills, and fluent oral and written English
• Job selected skills: excellent analysis and presentation skills
