Job Description - Research and development activities regarding metal forming, - The development activities comprise development of new products as well as development of process modifications or even new processes to make new products available by cold or warm forming, - Autonomous execution of development projects with emphasis on cold forming, - Tracking of relevant research and development trends and innovations in metal forming, - Creating self-initiated innovative solutions and driving patentable product or process solutions, - Evaluating results of cold forming processes with regard to the quality requirements of the product by initiating and evaluating shop floor trials and laboratory tests, - Technical analysis of customer needs in cooperation with business development and creation of technical solutions in consideration of costs, product quality, availability of production means, - Presenting solutions of new developments to customers, especially to their technical departments. Qualification - Profound technical knowledge in production technologies, especially forming of metals and knowledge of cold heading, - Good mechanical engineering background, - Skills in fastener technology welcome, - Good skills in working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), - Basic skills in simulation of cold forming processes (SIMUFACT) preferred, - Self-responsible autonomous working within an interdisciplinary team, - Flexibility to react to changing demands - Open and friendly appearance with the skill to present development results to customers. - Willingness to travel - Fluent English language skills in speech and writing. Experience - Experience in production technologies especially in metal forming processes and cold forming, - Preferably, this experience was gained in a first industrial engagement or scientific research work.
